The Spanish translation of the Cologne Commentary on Space Law Vol. I co-edited by R. M. Aguilar and R. Popova is now available

  • 25 May 2023

The Cologne Commentary on Space Law (CoCoSL) is a must-reading to delve into international space law. The three-volume treatise includes provision-by-provision commentary of the five United Nations Treaties on Outer Space and the five major UN General Assembly Resolutions and has been published between 2009 and 2015 as a joint undertaking of the Institute of Air and Space Law of the University of Cologne and the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Outer Space Treaty opening for signature in 2022, Volume I of the Cologne Commentary on Space Law has been translated into Spanish under the guidance of the assistant editors Rafael Moro Aguilar, Professor at Florida International University, and Rada Popova, Legal Counsel at Isal Aerospace.

Volume I focuses on the 1967 Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies. Twenty authoritative experts contributed to the volume, by providing both a commentary of the Treaty provisions and insights on the subsequent State practice, present-day applicability and future perspectives of the Treaty.
