  • 31 May 2023

On 29-30 May 2023, the UNOOSA Expert Event on the Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space took place in Vienna, ahead of the following COPUOS session started on 31 May. The Event had gathered prominent experts in the field of space law to share practices on registration of space objects.

Prof. Sergio Marchisio was invited to contribute to the first session dedicated to the UN Registration Convention and other relevant resolutions into national legislation. Results of the discussion then fed an anonymised stakeholder study on the experiences of Member States.

The Event was part of the first phase of The Registration Project: Supporting Implementation of Treaty Obligations related to the Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space established in 2022 by the UNOOSA with the support of the Government of the United Kingdom.
