  • 9 November 2024

The OSL Team contributed to the success of the first Course on Fondamenti di Diritto Internazionale applicato alle Operazioni Spaziali, which took place from October 28 to 31, 2024, at the Center for Higher Defense Studies. The course, organized under the scientific coordination of Prof. Nicola Colacino, was an initiative promoted by the Center for Higher Defense Studies and the Space Operations Command, on behalf of the Italian Defense Staff – Armed Forces.

This course marks a significant training milestone in the realm of space activities, aimed at fostering collaboration and integrating the expertise of a network of key institutional stakeholders. It serves as a model for future initiatives and enhances Italy’s leadership in advanced training on the law of outer space activities, supporting long-term cooperation between institutions and professionals in the field.

The OSL team contributed on the first day of the Course, with Prof. Sergio Marchisio opening the course with a presentation providing attendees with core principles and concepts of the law of outer space activities and discussing future perspectives. Later, Dr. Gianfranco Nucera gave a presentation on the Outer Space Treaty, highlighting its main features.
