OSL Team at the 2025 ECSL Summer Course on Space Law and Policy

The Outer Space Law Team of Sapienza University of Rome is proud to have taken part in the European Centre for Space Law (ECSL) Summer Course 2025, organized in collaboration with the University of Tallinn, TalTech Law School, Department of Law, under the theme “Cybersecurity in the Context of Space Law and Policy.”

Two of our distinguished members contributed as lecturers:

Sergio Marchisio, who on the opening day (Monday, 18 August) dedicated to an Introduction to International Space Law, delivered lectures on “The Outer Space Treaty: Core Principles and Concepts” and “The Rescue and Return Agreement: Humans in Outer Space.”
Gianfranco Gabriele Nucera, who on Friday, 22 August, during the day devoted to Diplomatic Space Governance, addressed the topics “International Space Institutions” and “The Use of Space Technologies to Support the Development and Implementation of International Law.”

The participants — drawn from across Europe — were particularly engaged and proactive, enriching the sessions with insightful comments and questions. Congratulations go to ECSL for selecting such an outstanding group of students, and to Tallinn University for supporting this long-standing initiative (first launched in 1986 at the University of Messina) with renewed energy and innovative perspectives.
