International Symposium on Cultural Heritage in War and Peace “Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage Through Past, Present and Future”

  • 15 January 2024

On 18-19 January, the third edition of the International Symposium on Cultural Heritage in War and Peace on the theme “Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage Through Past, Present and Future” will take place at Forlì Campus, University of Bologna. Aiming to carry out discussions on the protection of cultural heritage in different fields, the Congress will explore innovative approaches for the preservation and management of tangible and intangible heritage in conflict and peace. 🏛 🇺🇳

Sergio Marchisio, invited to participate in the high-level session on “Heritage and Space” chaired by Ermanno Napolitano, will discuss the cultural heritage protection in areas beyond national jurisdiction. The session, which will also feature Michelle L.D. Hanlon, Mississippi University, and Andrea Harrington, McGill University, aims to define cultural heritage in space and explore its legal framework, in light of human activity on celestial bodies increasingly recognised as common human heritage. 🌔

The Congress is organised by University of Bologna, McGill University and University of Mississippi, in collaboration with Sapienza University of Rome, Pisa University, Palacký University Olomouc and Universities Network for Children and Armed Conflicts.
